Meet new Grand Exalted Ruler
Paul R. Ryan
Paul R. Ryan was born in Elgin, Illinois and raised in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He graduated from New London-Spicer High School and attended/graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University.
He worked in the food and beverage industry for 12 years, he has worked in the real estate industry for the last 25 and now owns his own real estate company. He has served as local and state Real Estate Board of Directors where he received Realtor of the Year in 2008. Ryan has also served as treasurer and president of his local chamber of commerce.
Ryan has been a member of our order for 14 years after being initiated into the Wilmar Minnesota Elks Lodge in October of 2005. Ryan served in their Board of Directors for 11 years and as Chairman from 2009 – 2018. He received his Dedicated Service Award in 2009 and was Office of the Year in 2010. He was Leading Knight on three different occasions 2010, 2017 and 2018, becoming Exalted Ruler in 2011. Ryan received the Exalted Ruler Appreciation Award for Outstanding Service and Dedication in 2017 – 2018. He was also named as an Honorary Life Member in 2015, for his services for local, state and Grand Lodge.
Paul R. Ryan served the Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in 2012 and 2013. He was elected to the Board of Grand Trustees in 2015 serving as Building Applications-East Member, Approving Member, Secretary and most recently as Chairman.
Ryan is married to Stacey Jo Ryan and has three children, Jordan Andrew Ryan (wife Alex), Cassandra Jo and Jackson Paul Ryan. His theme 2020-2021 is “Creating Momentum for the Future of Elkdom”.
Meet new FSEA President Rudy Masi, Sr.
Congratulations to Rudy Masi, Sr. a member of St. Petersburg Elks Lodge 1224, who was elected and installed as the State President of the Florida State Elks Association at the annual state Elks convention. Rudy and his wife Dolly, PLP, PER live in St. Petersburg and have been blessed with 30+ years of marriage. Between them they have two sons Rey III and Rudy Jr. (deceased), a grandson Rey IV and granddaughter Aurelia.
In 2005, after conducting a special event pig roast for his Uncle, PER George Povelitis at St. Petersburg #1224, he was impressed with the lodge kitchen, the friendliness of the members and the explanation of services provided by the Elks. He became a member of St. Petersburg #1224 on August 23, 2005.
Over the years Masi has served as Committee Chairperson in many lodge Committees, including but not limited to Board of Directors, House Committee, two-time President of St. Pete #1224 PER Association and Exalted Ruler twice. Masi has also served as WCD VP and DDGER and other Chairs within the WCD. Most recently Masi has been serving FSEA as Historical Commemorative Programs Liaison since 2009, FEYC Board of Directors 2017 – 2018, Present Member of FSEA Board of Directors and Executive Committee 2018 – 2019 and many other roles in previous years. 2019 – 2020 VPAL.
These are challenging times, but FSEA will emerge stronger. With a relentless focus on our veterans, kids and community and a preparedness to challenge ourselves and take bold decisions we can retain our position as our communities’ champions. This is a great team made up of great people, with real expertise and we are confident that together we can succeed.
