ST. PETERSBURG ELKS LODGE #1224
HOUSE AND POOL RULES


1.  All outside entrances to the club facilities will be secured at all times.
     Entrance during normal operating hours may be gained by use of a current
     key card or admission by a member or employee after proper identification.
     The exception to this rule is at such times as the club facilities are open to
      the general public by appropriate authority.
 
a.  Only regular members and associate members in good standing of BPOE
     #1224 who have a current membership or identification card will be allowed
     to enter the club facilities during normal operating hours. The use of key
     cards is limited to the individuals to whom they are issued. Visiting Elks to be
     charged a fee for a key card.
 
b.  All visiting Elks in good standing will be admitted to the club facilities by
     displaying a current membership card from their home Lodge and signing our
     guest register. Use of pool for visiting Elks will be in accordance with Rules
     of the Pool.
 
c.  All individuals entitled to a BPOE #1224 identification card ( wife, widow,
     dependents, etc. ) will be admitted to the club facilities by displaying their
     current identification card. Use of the pool by any of the above will be by
     pool card only or by payment of an entrance fee. New applicants who have
     paid their dues and initiation fee in full will be entitled to a pool card.
 
2.  A current membership or identification card must be shown in order to obtain
     service in the club. Alcoholic beverages must be served only to bona fide club
     members or their guests. The payment for such services and distribution must
     be made only by bona fide club members. The only exception to this rule is
     in an area of the club which has been opened to the public by appropriate
     authority. Under no circumstances will unauthorized individuals be allowed to
     purchase Alcoholic beverages.
 
a.  Any wife, mother, unmarried daughter, unmarried sister or daughter of a
     deceased member being 21 or over holding an Identification Card under
     the authorization of Grand Lodge Statutes, Article XIV, Section 14.140,
     shall be permitted to purchase drinks in the club facilities.
 
b.  Guests will be allowed entrance to the club when signed in by a bona fide
     member of lodge #1224. While a guest of a member of Lodge #1224, the
     member will be in attendance at all times and the guest will leave with the
     member.
 
3.  Lounge hours shall be posted and adhered to.
 
 4.   Swimming pool and bath house rules will be posted and enforced.
 
5.   All automobiles, trucks and other motor vehicles will be parked in the
      parking lot within designated lines. No vehicles will be parked on the
      grass, driveways or service area unless authorized to do so by
      appropriate authority. The club is not responsible for vehicles or articles
      therein. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, notifying owner of
      violation. A second violation will warrant an appearance by the owner
      before the House Committee for appropriate action. No parking will be
      allowed in the spot reserved for the Exalted Ruler at any time, unless
      authorized by the Exalted Ruler.
 
6.   No animals or pets of any kind will be allowed in the building or
      swimming area. Exception: seeing eye dogs.
 
7.   Complaints, criticism or pertinent information concerning the operation of
      the bar, dining room, swimming pool or Lodge will be in writing, signed
      and placed in the suggestion box. The Exalted Ruler will take appropriate
      action.
 
8.   Checks will be cashed for Elks members at the discretion of the bartender,
       a House Committee member or any Lodge Officer. An Elk member having
       one ( 1 ) uncollectible check returned may have his/her check cashing
       privileges suspended. Personal checks shall not exceed $60.00 for members
      of Lodge #1224 or $30.00 for members of any other Elks Lodge.
 
9.   On Lodge meeting nights and special meetings of the Lodge, the bar will be
      closed and all other club activities will cease during the period of the Lodge
      meeting except as defined by Article XVI, Section 16.090 of the Grand Lodge
      Statutes. The bar will be reopened at the completion of the Lodge meeting.
 
10. a.  Proper clothing will be worn at all times. Men may dress in long pants,
           Bermudas or dress shorts, shirt with sleeves and appropriate footwear.
           Women may dress in such current fashion modes as long pants, Bermudas
           or dress shorts, skirts, skorts, culottes and appropriate footwear.
 
           No undershirts, tank tops, hats or caps will be allowed to be worn inside the
           Lodge, lounge or bar areas.
 
        b. Dress code for Lodge meeting nights:
            1) Regular Meeting: Long pants, Bermuda or dress shorts, shirt with sleeves
                and proper footwear.
            2) Initiation: Long pants ( no shorts ), shirt with sleeves and proper footwear.
 
           The above dress code will be in effect at all times, unless a special occasion
           warrants a different attire.
           Anyone in violation of the dress code will not be served and will be asked to
           leave the Lodge Facilities.
 
11. Vulgar or obscene language will not be permitted. One warning shall be
       sufficient. A second offence, will be asked to vacate premises and shall be
       subject to disciplinary action according to Article IX, Section 2 of the
       Lodge By-Laws. Loud and boisterous behavior as to annoy another will
       not be allowed.
 
12.  Persons appearing to be inebriated or who have imbibed to excess will not be
       served further alcoholic beverages. The Bar manager and bartenders are
       empowered to use their good judgement and discretion in executing this refusal.
 
13.  No Alcoholic beverages shall be brought into or taken out of the premises
        except by authorized delivery man who’s function so dictates.
 
14.  Members or guests will not be allowed behind the bar or in the kitchen,
       unless it is in the performance of their appointed duties of the Lodge or club.
 
15.  Children shall not be allowed in the lounge after 9:30 pm, unless the activity of
       the evening includes them. Children will not be allowed in the lounge at any time
       without their parents or other responsible members. No children will be allowed
       at the bar at any time.
 
16.  There will not be any gambling what so ever, or any other activity which is in
       violation of the Florida State Statutes or Pinellas County Ordinances.
 
17.  Members and guests will not mar, deface or damage the club, it’s appointments
       and/or property, or willfully increase the cost of the operation of the club or
       Lodge. They will be held pecuniarily liable for damages.
 
18.  Bartenders drinking on duty will be terminated. Volunteer bartenders will not drink
       while on duty.
 
19.  A member shall be held responsible for the action of his/her guest. A guest
        ( Identification card ) uses the club by courtesy, not by right and the courtesy may
        be suspended or cancelled.
 
20.  No one under eighteen ( 18 ) years of age shall be permitted to operate any game or
       vending machine in the game room or lounge area without adult supervision.
 
21.  Sick leave: Full time employees up to 40 hours sick pay after one year service and
       up to 80 hours sick pay after two years service. Sick pay would not start until after
       three days sickness with a doctor’s certificate. The pay would include the three
       days of sickness. There will be no carry over from year to year. An employee will
       be considered full time if he/she works an average of 35 hours or more a week.

22.  Paid holidays: Full time employees, after two years of service, will
       receive the following paid holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th
       of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Holiday pay
      will be based on average weekly hours worked divided by five, weekly
       hours not to exceed 40. If holiday falls on Saturday, employee will have
       Friday off. If holiday falls on Sunday, employee will have Monday off.
 
23.  Paid Vacations: Full time employees based on a 35 hour or over work
       week. After one year of full time employment, one week paid vacation.
       After three years of full time employment, two weeks vacation. After
       five years of full time employment, employee will accrue three weeks
       of vacation.
 
24.  All rules herein contained will be governed by Grand Lodge Statutes,
       Article XVI, Section 16.040.
 


ST. PETERSBURG ELKS LODGE #1224 POOL RULES


1.  Pool hours 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. With the exception being Mondays 1 p.m.
     to 10 p.m.
 
2.  Private pool for Elks and their guests only. All members of the immediate
     family of the member Elk without a pool card on file will be charged an
     admission fee.
     Members of neighboring Lodges may use the pool either as a guest and
     pay the admission fee, or upon payment of a seasonal fee.
 
a.  All persons using the swimming pool are required to shower with soap
     before entering pool. ( State Health Dept. requirements )
 
b.  Any person with a communicable disease or wearing bandages will not be
     permitted in the pool. ( State Health Dept. requirements )
 
c.  The entrance at the west side of the pool area is expressly for swimmers.
     Use only this entrance. Pool fee must be paid and/or pool card must be
     checked at the door upon entrance.
 
d.  Every member must register before entering pool. If you have guests, be
     sure to write their names clearly.
 
e.  No horseplay, running or ducking allowed.
 
f.  No flotation devices will be allowed by any one using the diving board.
 
g.  Only proper bathing attire ( swim suits ) allowed in pool. No cutoffs.
 
h.  Bicycles will not be parked at pool entrance and/or on driveways.
 
i.   No swimming under the diving boards and in the diving area.
 
j.  Absolutely no glassware around the pool and no glass goggles are allowed
    in the pool. Cigarettes and debris must be placed in receptacles provided.
 
k.  No pets permitted in the pool area.
 
l.  Children are not permitted in the lounge unless accompanied by a member.
 
m.  Dress code for the lounge will prevail.
 
n.  Swimmers will not be paged or given messages except in an emergency.
 
o.  Any child who uses the diving boards may be administered a swimming
     test by the lifeguard or pool supervisor.
 
 p.  No one will be permitted to climb over the fence. Anyone caught will have
     pool privileges revoked ( see rule x ).
 
q.  The lifeguard and/or pool supervisor have full authority to maintain order,
     and may withdraw pool privileges. If any member has a problem, he shall
     discuss it with the House Committee.
 
r.   Children under 17 years of age must be with parent and/or legal guardian.
 
s.   Any child who cannot swim without the aid of an acceptable personal
      flotation devise ( with approval of pool supervisor or lifeguard ) must be
      accompanied by father or mother or legal guardian at the pool.
 
t.   Only one ( 1 ) bounce on the diving board. No running on the diving board.
 
u.   No one is allowed to hang onto the rope separating the pool and diving area.
 
v.   Alcoholic beverages of any type may not be brought into the club facilities.
 
      (a) On days when the grill is open, no coolers or containers will be allowed
      to be brought into the pool area, On special occasions, i.e.: Birthdays, etc.
      Permission of the House Committee will be needed as an exception to the
      above rule.
 
w.  Any violation of these rules can result in suspension of pool privileges with
      or without pulling of pool registration card. Children must have their parents
      come to the House Committee and show reason for return of card.
 
x.  Members shall be responsible to the club for the actions of their guests, as
     covered by BPOE #1224 House Rule 17.
